7/7 Cricket - Australia vs South Africa

After victory in the three test series against the Proteas, it was with much excitement that we made our way down to Durban to watch the Australians play South Africa in the third 20/20 match at Kingsmead Stadium.  After a wash out in Port Elizabeth, everyone was ready for a bit of cricket, however, the weather Gods were once more against us.

Thank to Noni, William sported some excellent Australia Day tattoos to support his team.
Unfortunately however, there were some rather ominous clouds brewing in the background.

Despite the threat of rain, we made our way to  Kingsmead and were grateful
to be under cover.  Here we are enjoying the ambience and getting into some
local beer in plastic cups. Mmmm.  Just how I like it.
It was so wet some of those crazy Saffers thought they'd be able to take a dip.

After a couple of hours, things finally dried up a little, the sawdust came out,
and the match referee declared that a game could go ahead
(much to the disgruntlement of both captains and umpires!)

So we caught a bit of action - 7 overs each - more than enough after 2 hours of watching rain.

And so…
…the Australians came away with a narrow victory and the following morning dawned to a beautiful day in Durban!
